The current distribution represents a decline from previous levels, partly due to the absence of a $1.125 million settlement payment from Blackbeard Operating LLC that bolstered the July figures. While Texas Royalty Properties generated a net profit of $1.395 million based on production of 14,405 barrels of oil and 5,581 Mcf of gas, these gains were insufficient to offset the administrative expenses and the ongoing production cost hurdles at the Waddell Ranch site.
Beyond the monthly financials, the trust faces a significant shift in corporate structure. SoftVest, L.P. is pushing to combine the trust’s assets with those held by Blackbeard Holdings to form a new entity, PBT Land and Minerals, Inc. Although a registration statement has been filed for this proposed business combination, the trustee remains neutral, confirming that it is not a party to the agreement and is not soliciting proxies for the upcoming unitholder vote. Investors are advised to monitor official SEC filings regarding the special meeting, as the outcome could fundamentally alter the trust's future operations.
