CVS Health Shuffles Board to Focus on Data and Technology

The departure of investor Larry Robbins marks the end of a two-year push to reshape CVS Health’s financial strategy, as the company pivots toward a tech-heavy future by appointing JPMorgan Chase executive Teresa Heitsenrether to its Board of Directors, effective November 18, 2026.

Heitsenrether, who currently serves as Chief Data & Analytics Officer at JPMorgan Chase, brings nearly four decades of experience in global financial operations and artificial intelligence. CVS CEO David Joyner signaled that the appointment is designed to accelerate the company’s transition into a consumer-focused, health-technology firm, leveraging her expertise in large-scale digital transformation.

Robbins, the CEO of Glenview, leaves the board after a tenure that prioritized operational discipline and governance reform. His exit follows a period he described as a "cultural renaissance" for the company, during which he pushed for a repaired balance sheet and the recruitment of new leadership. CVS continues to manage a massive footprint of 9,000 retail pharmacies and serves roughly 87 million pharmacy benefit members as it seeks to integrate more personalized, data-driven health services.
