The June 9 event drew a crowd of over 100 industry insiders, ranging from actress Molly Shannon to Everlane founder Michael Preysman. Guests moved through the historic venue accompanied by a live piano soundtrack, casting ballots for the upcoming Book of the Night Award, scheduled for announcement on June 18. Attendees departed with scented candles from DS & Durga, a nod to the sensory focus of the evening.
Booktique founder Elizabeth Yarborough emphasized that these publications represent more than shelf filler, describing the night as a necessary red-carpet treatment for the creative teams behind the works. The winning titles spanned categories from fashion history to automotive design, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style' and Taschen’s 'Ferrari.' Established in 2022, the awards series continues to serve as a high-profile showcase for illustrated nonfiction, with organizers already confirming plans for a fifth annual edition in 2027.
