The report highlights a growing industry tension: AI coding agents are producing software at speeds that traditional testing methods struggle to match. According to Gartner, this velocity gap increases the risk of security vulnerabilities and defects. For mabl co-founder Dan Belcher, the core challenge is not the speed of generation, but the reliability of the output. He argues that the agent responsible for writing code should not be the same entity verifying it, making independent validation essential for engineering teams.
Since the evaluation period for the report concluded, mabl has rolled out several updates designed to integrate quality assurance directly into the development workflow. These features include the ability to run tests from within AI coding agents, automated test recovery to maintain business requirements, and natural language insights for failure analysis. The company intends to showcase its broader vision for the Agentic Development Lifecycle at its upcoming Experience 2026 conference in Boston.
