Changan Expands European Footprint with NEVO Line and Localized R&D

At the Mondial de l'Auto 2026 in Paris, Changan Automobile signaled a deeper commitment to the European market by unveiling its NEVO product line. Beyond new vehicle debuts, the manufacturer is accelerating its "In Europe, For Europe" strategy through expanded regional engineering, design, and after-sales support networks.

Changan Expands European Footprint with NEVO Line and Localized R&D

The NEVO series, which has already reached over one million families globally, centers on three pillars: refined design, shared cabin comfort, and integrated intelligent technology. The Q05 model made its European debut at the show, offering driver assistance and urban-focused usability. The company confirmed that the Q06, a premium family-oriented model, will follow to further diversify its regional offerings. This expansion complements the existing DEEPAL brand, which currently markets the S05 and S07 models in both battery-electric and plug-in hybrid variants.

Changan’s long-term strategy relies on infrastructure built over two decades, including design facilities in Turin and R&D operations in Birmingham. Zhao Fei, General Manager of Changan Group, emphasized that the company is moving beyond simple vehicle imports to establish a localized ecosystem. This includes new spare parts distribution hubs in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, alongside comprehensive technical training programs. The Q05 is scheduled to hit markets in Spain and Italy by the first quarter of 2027, marking the next milestone in the brand’s effort to root itself within the European automotive landscape.
