Aeon Industrial Joins Austin Deep Tech 50 Amid Defense Expansion

The selection, organized by Overmatch Ventures alongside seven prominent venture capital firms, acknowledges Aeon’s progress in developing advanced interceptors and tactical weapon systems. The company recently outpaced schedules on a U.S. Army contract for warhead development and secured an eight-figure defense deal. Production is currently surging, with over 10,000 MERC high-voltage electronic safe-and-arm devices entering the manufacturing pipeline following positive performance at the Department of War’s Drone Dominance initiative.

To support this growth, Aeon has established a 140,000-square-foot facility in Cedar Park, Texas. This site centralizes the production of propulsion, fuzing, and software, allowing for the end-to-end assembly of systems like the Zeus tactical missile. By bringing these processes under one roof, the company aims to deliver scalable, affordable mass to the U.S. military and its allies. Founder and CEO Naweed Tahmas noted that the facility serves as a vital component in rebuilding the domestic defense industrial base, emphasizing the importance of cost-effective production in meeting contemporary security threats.
