ETS Launches EvidenceWorks to Bridge Gap Between Research and Policy

The initiative targets the disconnect between the nation’s robust body of educational research and actual classroom results. By convening cross-sector leaders—including educators, employers, and philanthropic partners—ETS aims to move beyond theoretical policy. The framework focuses on diagnosing specific regional challenges, piloting real-world solutions, and measuring outcomes to determine which strategies deserve broader implementation.

"American education will rise through the decisions made state by state," said Amit Sevak, CEO of ETS. The program provides participating states with technical assistance, implementation playbooks, and evaluation tools. These resources are intended to address critical pain points, such as declining literacy rates, math proficiency, and the growing mismatch between current curricula and workforce demands. By prioritizing evidence over anecdote, the initiative seeks to foster a bipartisan environment where successful programs are not just announced, but rigorously tested and scaled.
