The collaboration, solidified during a meeting between LG Chairman Kwang Mo Koo and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang in Santa Clara, leverages the NVIDIA Jetson Thor platform to provide the humanoid with advanced reasoning and control. LG intends to integrate specialized hardware from its subsidiaries—including sensors, actuators, and battery tech—to refine the unit's performance. Beyond humanoids, the partnership targets the factory floor; LG will deploy its CLOiD wheel-based robots at a Tennessee washing machine plant this year to validate their utility in live production environments.
Technical efforts will also focus on a robot data factory powered by LG CNS PhysicalWorks, designed to streamline data collection and model training. These insights are expected to bolster LG’s proprietary Robot Foundation Model. Looking toward 2028, the company aims to scale these initiatives by constructing an 80 MW AI factory in Cheonan, South Korea, utilizing the NVIDIA DSX architecture. Concurrently, the firms are developing an AI-defined vehicle platform that merges NVIDIA’s autonomous driving stack with LG’s existing infotainment and automotive software expertise to serve global original equipment manufacturers.
