The production, helmed by animation studio Cypic, continues to build momentum as the original manga by Takeru Hokazono surpasses 4 million copies in circulation. Director Tetsuya Takeuchi, known for his work on Sword Art Online II, leads a creative team tasked with translating the series' gritty, cinematic swordplay to the screen. Taihi Kimura, recipient of the 2025 Seiyu Award for Best New Actor, is already confirmed as the voice of protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira.
Konishi described his new role as a challenge of balance, aiming to capture the effortless confidence of a character who functions as both a mentor figure and a former member of the government’s Kamunabi sorcerer organization. The anime will be available to international audiences via Crunchyroll, excluding select Asian territories. Ahead of the wider release, the series is set for a multi-city World Tour, with recent additions including an August 2 premiere at Otakon in Washington, D.C., and updated programming for Anime NYC on August 22.
