The gala serves as a centerpiece for the upcoming semiquincentennial, gathering military families, community leaders, and veterans to honor figures who have shaped the American cultural landscape. Mike Harrigan, the founder and executive producer of the event, cited Greenwood’s four-decade influence on national unity as the primary reason for his selection as this year’s honoree.
Beyond the performance, the evening includes a diverse slate of recipients and guests, among them Elizabeth Dole, Tony Orlando, and Captain Luis Avila. The festivities culminate at midnight with the "1,000 Bells of Freedom" ceremony and the unveiling of America’s Freedom Bell. Proceeds from the ball will benefit the Operation Renewed Hope Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to securing housing and support services for veterans.
