Chaser Integrates With Claude to Automate Slack Task Management

Toronto-based project management platform Chaser has exited beta with a major expansion: a direct integration with Anthropic’s Claude. Built on the Model Context Protocol, the tool allows the AI to move beyond simply receiving requests, enabling it to actively assign tasks and track follow-ups directly within Slack channels.

The platform, which claims a 98.7% task-completion rate, operates entirely within existing Slack environments to eliminate the friction of external apps. During its beta phase, Chaser scaled to over 500,000 users across 1,000 companies. Founders Josh Martow and Alex Steshenko designed the system to convert routine internal messages into tracked workflows, effectively turning Slack into a comprehensive project management hub.

The integration with Claude fundamentally shifts the dynamic between humans and AI assistants. While most tools function as one-way interfaces where users delegate work to AI, Chaser allows Claude to assign follow-up actions to teammates. For instance, if Claude completes a research document, it can autonomously assign the necessary review or approval tasks to the correct person in Slack. To maintain security, the system operates on Slack’s existing permission model and requires explicit human authorization before Claude can modify any project data.

Early adopters are already utilizing the connectivity to streamline daily operations. Charles Vickery, Client Experience Lead at kazka, reports using the integration to synthesize tasks from call transcripts and prioritize his daily schedule. By leveraging the Model Context Protocol, Chaser enables Claude to pull context from various sources, providing leadership with granular insight into project progress rather than simple status updates.
