Subject to regulatory approvals, the planned facility will serve as a distribution center for MSD’s extensive product portfolio. By integrating into Abu Dhabi’s Health, Endurance, Longevity, and Medicine (HELM) cluster, the hub intends to bridge the gap between rapid scientific innovation and patient access. The partnership leverages Abu Dhabi’s existing infrastructure in population genomics and advanced research to create a secure, scalable launchpad for next-generation health solutions.
Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health, noted that the initiative reinforces the emirate’s position as a central node for global life sciences. Ashraf Mallak, Managing Director of MSD for the Gulf, Libya, and Egypt, added that the collaboration aligns with a shared goal of enhancing healthcare system resilience. The announcement coincides with Abu Dhabi’s participation at the BIO International Convention 2026, where the emirate is highlighting its capabilities in AI-enabled health innovation and gene editing.
