AeroVironment Faces Class Action Over SCAR Program Disclosures

Investors who purchased AeroVironment, Inc. securities between June 25, 2025, and March 10, 2026, face an approaching July 27 deadline to join a securities class action. The lawsuit alleges the company obscured the impending termination of a critical $1.7 billion Space Force contract behind generic risk warnings.

AeroVironment Faces Class Action Over SCAR Program Disclosures

The litigation centers on whether AeroVironment misled shareholders regarding the stability of its SCAR program. While the company maintained that stop-work orders were merely part of routine contract negotiations, the complaint contends that management was aware of a fundamental shift in U.S. Space Force procurement strategy. The military branch was reportedly moving toward a multi-vendor model, rendering the firm’s bespoke BADGER system obsolete.

This discrepancy between internal knowledge and public communication allegedly violated Item 303 of SEC Regulation S-K, which requires the disclosure of known trends likely to have a material impact on revenue. The consequences for investors were severe: following a series of disclosures regarding the program's status, the stock experienced cumulative declines of approximately 47%. Joseph E. Levi, of the firm Levi & Korsinsky, argues that boilerplate risk language failed to provide the transparency necessary for shareholders to assess the threat to the company’s largest revenue pipeline. Affected investors have until July 27, 2026, to file as lead plaintiffs.
