Scott's Protein Balls Accelerates National Target Expansion

From a regional debut to a nationwide footprint, Scott’s Protein Balls has surged from 86 to 350 Target stores in just four months. The rapid scaling, fueled by sustained consumer demand for fresh, clean-label snacks, marks a significant shift for the New York-based brand as it prepares for the Summer Fancy Food Show.

The expansion, which officially went live in May, required the company to increase its logistics reach from two northeastern distribution centers to eight across the United States. Following the initial January rollout, the brand secured placement in 275 additional locations, cementing its presence in the refrigerated snack aisle with core flavors including Confetti, Brownie Batter, and Peanut Butter Cacao.

CEO and co-founder Lori Levine attributes the growth to a consumer appetite for recognizable, plant-based ingredients like chia seeds, flaxseed, and oats. Beyond the retail milestone, the company’s success carries a philanthropic weight: as a breast cancer survivor, Levine has structured the business to donate a portion of all proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Industry professionals can view the full product range and meet the founding team at the upcoming Summer Fancy Food Show, held at New York's Javits Center from June 29 through July 1.
