Clarins Brings Frozen Glamour to Cannes

Cannes has turned a shade of icy blue this week as Clarins transformed the Carlton Hotel’s Crane Club into a frosted, immersive playground. The beauty brand used the high-profile backdrop to debut its new Cryo-Plumping Lip Oil and Balm, courting influencers with dry-ice cocktails and a distinctly chilling aesthetic.

The launch event, held in partnership with LinkedIn, drew a crowd of creators and cultural tastemakers including Maura Higgins, Layla Taylor, and Shaqir O'Neal. Guests navigated a space defined by blue-tinted decor, customized silver mirrors, and caviar service, all set to the soundtrack provided by DJ Tay Jay. This gathering marks the beginning of a four-day series of invitation-only activations running through June 25.

Beyond the curated social atmosphere, the new product line leans heavily into the brand’s history of phyto-chemistry. The Cryo-Plumping range replaces the classic Lip Comfort Oil formula with a menthol-infused cooling technology designed to provide an immediate plumping effect. According to the company, the balm features a pH-adaptive formula that shifts from a pale blue tint to a personalized rose shade upon application. The release follows Clarins’ recent B Corporation certification and its ongoing pivot toward carbon neutrality, as the family-owned firm attempts to merge high-fashion marketing with its established skincare-first reputation.
