This collaboration connects California’s established network of biotechnology and pharmaceutical firms with Abu Dhabi’s Health, Endurance, Longevity and Medicine (HELM) Cluster. The initiative focuses on exchanging policy insights and industry best practices to foster high-value innovation environments. American organizations will gain access to Abu Dhabi’s living lab model, a sandbox designed to integrate discovery, validation, and real-world implementation within a single ecosystem.
Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health, emphasized that the strength of modern life sciences lies in connecting talent, research, and investment across borders. For her part, the department views this bridge as a mechanism to translate scientific discoveries into clinical impact with greater speed. Joe Panetta, President Emeritus of Biocom, noted that the organization intends to use this memorandum of understanding to facilitate joint events and provide companies in both markets with direct channels for partnership and growth.
