John Herrington to Step Down as President of Midea America

After nearly three years at the helm of Midea America Corporation, John Herrington will step down as President on September 30, 2026. A veteran with 42 years in consumer electronics, Herrington is credited with accelerating the firm’s rapid expansion into the U.S. home appliance market before transitioning into an advisory role.

Herrington joined the company in January 2024, overseeing a period of diversification that pushed the brand into new categories including floor care, home comfort, and major kitchen appliances. Avant Bai, President of Midea Americas Region, credited Herrington with transforming the firm into a comprehensive home solutions provider while fostering a culture of mentorship within the team.

Following his departure in September, Herrington will remain with the organization through the end of the year to assist in the leadership handoff. While a successor has not yet been named, company leadership expressed confidence that the transition will build upon the strategic foundation established during Herrington’s tenure. Midea America, a subsidiary of the Fortune 500 Midea Group, continues to operate its U.S. headquarters out of Parsippany, New Jersey.
