Concorde Career Colleges Expands Healthcare Training to Meet Labor Demand

To combat the widening gap in specialized medical staffing, Concorde Career Colleges has introduced 12 new training programs across its campuses in California, Florida, Missouri, and Texas. The curriculum rollout targets critical shortages in diagnostic imaging, surgical technology, and pharmacy services to align with projected regional job growth.

Concorde Career Colleges Expands Healthcare Training to Meet Labor Demand

The expansion includes certifications for dental assistants, pharmacy technicians, and surgical technologists, alongside specialized training in radiologic and sonographic technology. According to Concorde President Kevin Prehn, the move is designed to stabilize local healthcare systems by producing a steady pipeline of industry-ready professionals. These programs serve as a core component of Universal Technical Institute’s "North Star" strategy, a multi-year initiative aimed at diversifying the company’s educational portfolio through 2029.

Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics underscores the urgency of these additions. While national employment for diagnostic medical sonographers is expected to climb 13% through 2034, specific state projections are even more aggressive. In California, sonography roles are forecast to surge by 24%, while Florida expects a 16% rise in demand for both pharmacy technicians and dental assistants. By concentrating on these high-growth fields, the institution aims to bridge the gap between classroom training and the immediate requirements of regional employers.
