The centerpiece of the collaboration is The Backcountry Tour Collection, a series of itineraries designed for outdoor enthusiasts. These trips merge EF Adventures’ focus on cultural immersion with specialized gear advice from Backcountry’s "Gearhead" team. Travelers booking these tours will receive tailored equipment lists for specific destinations, such as the Trans Bhutan Trail, the Dolomites, and New Zealand, ensuring they are outfitted with products like Altra hiking boots or Rab rain jackets before departure.
Heidi Durflinger, CEO of EF World Journeys USA, stated that the partnership addresses the need for expert-backed preparation in remote destinations. Kevin Lenau, President of Backcountry, noted that the move integrates travel into the company's existing outdoor ecosystem. To mark the launch, the companies are hosting a sweepstakes from June 23–30, 2026, offering a grand prize package that includes an EF Adventures tour for two, a $2,000 Backcountry gift card, and personalized Gearhead planning services.
