CIOs Pivot to AI Execution at Info-Tech LIVE 2026

Thousands of IT leaders converged at the Bellagio in Las Vegas this June, signaling a shift in the corporate AI narrative. As the novelty of generative AI fades, the focus for CIOs has moved from experimental adoption to the rigorous, disciplined execution required to extract measurable value from agentic systems.

CIOs Pivot to AI Execution at Info-Tech LIVE 2026

The three-day conference, held June 9–11, highlighted a growing tension in the enterprise sector: while 91% of IT executives remain bullish on AI, only 42% of organizations have achieved cross-departmental impact. Info-Tech Research Group’s latest survey data suggests the primary obstacle is no longer a lack of enthusiasm, but a deficit in governance, data foundations, and board-approved strategy.

Industry analysts and speakers at the event argued that the next phase of enterprise AI will be defined by operational discipline. Sessions focused on the transition to agentic workflows—systems capable of autonomous reasoning—emphasizing that autonomy without architectural guardrails introduces significant risk. Leaders were urged to prioritize clear ownership and measurable outcomes over broad, unguided implementation. As Gord Harrison, Chief Research Officer at Info-Tech, noted, the burden on CIOs has evolved; they are now tasked with proving exactly where AI creates tangible business results, rather than simply proving that the technology exists.
