The visit, which concluded June 19, resulted in a series of agreements spanning transport, science, and public health. President Xi Jinping emphasized that the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor remains the centerpiece of this cooperation, with flagship projects like the Kyaukphyu Special Economic Zone and the New Yangon City moving into an accelerated development phase. This alignment builds on a robust economic foundation, as bilateral trade reached 19.4 billion dollars in 2025, marking a 19.1 percent increase over the previous year.
Beyond infrastructure and trade, the talks addressed regional security, specifically the rise of cross-border criminal activity. Both leaders committed to strengthening law enforcement to dismantle online gambling and telecom fraud networks, particularly in northern border areas. By formalizing support for an international alliance against cybercrime, the two governments aim to stabilize the volatile border region while securing the safety of their respective populations.
