The TAAF Board Accelerator aims to correct the persistent underrepresentation of AAPI leaders in the highest echelons of corporate governance. Supported by a $1 million grant from the Walter and Shirley Wang Foundation and a $500,000 contribution from TAAF, the initiative focuses on increasing the visibility of board-ready candidates. By partnering with the executive data firm Equilar, the program will build a structured pipeline of talent to serve search firms and corporate decision-makers.
Norman Chen, CEO of TAAF, noted that the project is designed to challenge outdated perceptions regarding leadership potential within the AAPI community. The initiative includes the Walter and Shirley Wang Foundation Roundtable Series, which identifies and prepares executives for board service. Advisor Scott Texeira, a retired partner at Egon Zehnder, will provide strategic guidance as the program integrates into TAAF’s broader effort to foster AAPI leadership across the national corporate landscape.
