The Erzbergrodeo, renowned as one of the world's most brutal off-road proving grounds, had not hosted four-wheel competition since 2018. Segway’s return involved a diverse team featuring American racer Jacob Zuccone and Dirt Wheels Magazine’s Cain Smead, alongside riders Jürgen Mohr, Frank Geiling, Ralf Hoorman, and Nikola Vujnovic. By completing the course, the team validated the AT10 platform under extreme conditions while aiming to integrate the category back into the sport’s premier international events.
Gabriel Cruz, Marketing Director of Segway Powersports U.S., framed the effort as a contribution to off-road culture rather than a mere exhibition. The project relied on collaboration between the brand's American, German, and Serbian divisions, signaling a shift in how the company approaches global motorsports. While the AT10 remains unavailable for purchase in the U.S. market, the successful campaign at Erzberg serves as a technical benchmark for the brand's future competitive strategy.
