Flagship Pioneering launches Terion to digitize global agriculture

Sunand Menon, formerly the CEO of CIBO Technologies and an Operating Partner at Flagship Pioneering, will lead the new firm as CEO. Terion seeks to bridge the gap between fragmented agricultural data and the growing corporate demand for reliable measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) systems. By integrating CIBO’s scientific modeling with Source’s enterprise network, the company intends to create a scalable system of record for the global agricultural economy.

Modern farming faces the dual challenge of increasing productivity while meeting rigorous climate and sustainability standards. Currently, billions of dollars in government and corporate incentives often lack a unified framework to translate field-level data into tangible economic outcomes. Terion positions itself as the independent foundation for this transition, offering an AI-enabled platform designed to manage programs across diverse geographies, including the U.S. Midwest and Brazil.
