Oncoinvent hits recruitment milestone in ovarian cancer trial

Fifty-four patients have now enrolled in Oncoinvent’s Phase 2 study of Radspherin, a radiopharmaceutical therapy designed to eliminate residual cancer cells in the abdominal cavity. This achievement marks the halfway point for the trial, which aims to improve outcomes for patients battling peritoneal metastases following surgical resection.

Oncoinvent hits recruitment milestone in ovarian cancer trial

The company reported a sharp increase in enrollment velocity throughout 2026. The pace of recruitment surged with 28 patients joining the study year-to-date, already exceeding the total number of participants added during the entirety of 2025. This acceleration is supported by the addition of four new clinical sites this year, bringing the total to ten hospitals across the United States, Spain, Norway, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Italy.

CEO Oystein Soug attributed the progress to the dedication of investigators and the therapy's established safety profile. The randomized controlled trial, registered as NCT06504147, focuses on progression-free survival by comparing Radspherin against the standard of care—surgery combined with chemotherapy. Previous Phase 1 data, published in journals including Gynecologic Oncology, indicated that the alpha-emitting treatment is well-tolerated at the 7MBq dose, providing a foundation for the current expansion.
