The acquisition unites Isola’s laminates with the electrodeposited copper foil produced by Camden Copper, another Principal Mineral asset. By controlling these two foundational materials, the company aims to reduce vulnerabilities for manufacturers in sectors ranging from satellite communications to AI infrastructure. The new funding, co-led by Overmatch Ventures and The New Industrial Corporation, will support the integration of these operations and long-term research development.
With this expansion, Principal Mineral now oversees 10 facilities and a workforce of approximately 1,300 people. CEO and co-founder Adam Johnson will lead the combined entity, while Sean Mirshafiei assumes the role of day-to-day operations lead at Isola. Former Isola CEO Travis Kelly will move into an advisory position. COO Wes Spurlock emphasized that the investment prioritizes technical continuity and manufacturing stability, building upon Isola’s century-long history in the materials sector.
