As the Department of Justice enforces WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, agencies must meet compliance deadlines by April 2027 for larger jurisdictions and April 2028 for smaller ones. By leveraging the Alliance for Innovation procurement framework, public entities can bypass traditional, time-intensive bidding processes.

Benjamin Gordon, president of the Maryland-based firm, emphasized that the goal extends beyond mere legal check-boxes, aiming to ensure that essential services like voting and training materials remain usable for all citizens.
