Medline to Build 800,000-Square-Foot Distribution Hub in Michigan

Medline, the nation’s largest provider of medical-surgical supplies, is expanding its footprint with a new 800,000-square-foot distribution center in Van Buren Township. The facility, slated for completion in late 2028, aims to bolster the company's supply chain resilience and increase capacity for healthcare providers throughout the Midwest.

The project is being developed at the Crossroads Distribution Center North industrial park, a site managed by Ashley Capital. According to company executives, the expansion is a strategic move to manage the evolving needs of medical facilities by adding regional operational flexibility. Billy Abrams, Medline’s executive vice president of supply chain solutions, noted that the facility will provide local teams with upgraded resources to better serve the Michigan market.

Local officials view the investment as a major economic win for the Detroit suburb. Kevin McNamara, the Van Buren Township supervisor, stated that the project is expected to drive job creation and signal long-term confidence in the area’s industrial infrastructure. The new warehouse will mirror the technological capabilities of existing Medline hubs, ensuring consistent service delivery across the company's extensive network. Once operational, the center will function as a cornerstone for medical supply logistics in the Great Lakes region.
