Vinamilk CEO Mai Kieu Lien Named Among Asia's 100 Most Powerful Women

For the third consecutive year, Fortune has named Vinamilk CEO Mai Kieu Lien to its list of Asia’s 100 Most Powerful Women. Ranking 71st in 2026, the executive climbed two spots from the previous year, securing her standing as a central figure in the regional dairy industry’s evolution.

The recognition evaluates leaders across 14 Asia-Pacific markets based on business performance, innovation, and social impact. For Lien, the honor highlights a career spanning five decades, beginning in 1976 when she joined Vinamilk as a dairy engineer amid severe national resource shortages. Her tenure transformed the company from a struggling local operation into a global competitor, now exporting products to 67 countries with cumulative revenues exceeding US$3.9 billion.

Lien attributes the company’s sustained performance to a philosophy of uncompromising quality control. Emphasizing that errors in food production are irreversible, she has prioritized the integration of advanced technology across 16 factories and 15 internationally certified farms. This strategy has elevated Vinamilk to the 36th position in global dairy industry revenue. As the company celebrates its 50th anniversary, the brand maintains a valuation of US$2.6 billion, continuing its role as a key contributor to Vietnam’s emergence as a significant player in the international nutrition sector.
