Huennekens brings a track record of scaling high-stakes medical ventures, including the 2015 acquisition of Volcano by Philips and the integration of Verb Surgical into Johnson & Johnson. DeepSight CEO Nader Sadrzadeh noted that the move is intended to bridge the gap between their proprietary sensing technology and widespread clinical adoption.
The company is currently refining two core products: NeedleVue, which provides precise localization of instrument tips, and OnPoint, a development-stage technology aiming to deliver ultrasound imaging directly from the point of treatment. By combining these tools with artificial intelligence, DeepSight seeks to provide surgeons with a clearer view of anatomy during minimally invasive procedures. Huennekens’s background in image-guided therapy and robotics is expected to guide the firm through its next phase of growth following a recent Series C financing round.
