The investment round was led by Burnt Island Ventures, a prominent venture firm in the water sector, with additional backing from Cycle H2O and global water technology company SUEZ. Subeca’s current platform is operational in 23 communities, providing smaller utilities with real-time data access that was previously reserved for large-scale operations. By bypassing the cost and complexity of traditional systems, the company targets a significant gap in the market for sustainable, easy-to-deploy utility management tools.
CEO Anne Mushow emphasized that the funding will accelerate their ability to provide small and medium-sized utilities with the means to detect leaks and manage resources efficiently. Christine Boyle, General Partner at Burnt Island Ventures, noted that the firm sees a billion-dollar opportunity in providing smart infrastructure to these underserved providers. The partnership with Cycle H2O further bolsters Subeca’s market reach, offering a direct pipeline to a broader network of municipal and industrial clients across North America.
