The new AI Modules move the heavy lifting of infrastructure integration from the data center site to a factory-controlled environment. By pre-engineering systems that include 800 VDC power racks, advanced cooling distribution units, and high-density IT racks, Flex allows operators to assemble and test infrastructure in parallel with site construction. This approach seeks to mitigate the complexities of modern, high-density AI environments where cooling and power delivery often create bottlenecks during traditional build-outs.
Chris Butler, the designated Chief Technology and Strategy Officer for the forthcoming spin-off entity Axiom Solutions International, noted that the current scale of AI infrastructure demands a shift away from incremental improvements toward holistic system design. Flex currently maintains over three million square feet of dedicated manufacturing capacity in the U.S. to support these deployments. This portfolio will migrate to Axiom in the first quarter of 2027, as Flex moves to establish the division as an independent, publicly traded company.
