The G9L SUV, which features both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations, serves as a testbed for the company's 800V architecture and 5C charging capabilities, promising a 10% to 80% charge in under 12 minutes. Following production trials at the Magna facility in Graz, the model is slated to become the fourth XPENG vehicle manufactured directly within Europe. Safety remains a focal point of the launch, with the company highlighting three years of rigorous testing across 26 countries and a standard suite of nine airbags paired with high-speed emergency braking systems.
Beyond hardware, the company is positioning its NGP software as a primary differentiator. Powered by VLA 2.0 and the proprietary Turing AI chip, the system leverages 4D spatiotemporal mapping to navigate complex urban environments, including roundabouts and dense motorcycle traffic. XPENG is currently one of only two manufacturers participating in the Paris Motor Show’s official Autonomous Lab, underscoring its push to align with UNECE UN Regulation No. 171. This technology rollout is supported by a broader strategy of localizing R&D, with the company now operating eight global research centers and planning a 2027 rollout for its IRON humanoid robots.
