The approval arrives shortly after 3iQ announced a strategic partnership with the UAE-based investment manager Further, a collaboration centered on the Managed Account Platform (QMAP). This platform recently secured $100 million in sovereign-linked seed capital, signaling strong institutional appetite for regulated digital asset exposure in the region. The firm plans to leverage this new licensing to bring its suite of investment products, which includes exchange-traded products for Bitcoin and Ethereum, to a wider base of accredited investors.
Rachel Pether, who joined 3iQ in 2023 after a decade at the sovereign investor Mubadala, leads the firm’s Middle Eastern operations. Her appointment underscores 3iQ’s localized strategy to bridge the gap between traditional sovereign capital and emerging digital markets. Arvind Ramamurthy, Chief Market Development Officer at ADGM, noted that the milestone reflects the growing international interest in the region's progressive regulatory framework for digital finance. As 3iQ moves through the final stages of the licensing process, the firm aims to solidify its status as a primary conduit for institutional-grade digital asset investments in the UAE.
