Living Proof Debuts Micellar-Powered Non-Aerosol Dry Shampoo

Nearly 70 percent of women wash their hair only a few times a week, yet most avoid dry shampoo due to lingering white residue and a lack of true cleanliness. Boston-based Living Proof is now challenging those industry pain points with a non-aerosol mist inspired by skincare-grade micellar technology.

Living Proof Debuts Micellar-Powered Non-Aerosol Dry Shampoo

The new Perfect hair Day™ Sheer Clean Dry Shampoo Mist represents a technical pivot for the brand, which has spent years refining a patent-pending Micellar Bi-phase Cleansing System. According to Ron McLaughlin, Chief R&D Officer, the development process involved 884 performance tests and 146 prototypes to overcome the limitations of traditional aerosol formats. The resulting formula uses a Micro-suspending Network to ensure an even application, while Bioadaptive Superfruit ingredients aim to maintain scalp comfort without leaving heavy buildup.

This launch arrives as the company seeks to capture a segment of consumers dissatisfied with standard powder-based products. Since entering the category in 2015, Living Proof has built a significant market presence, with one unit currently sold every ten seconds globally. CEO Brian Kennedy noted that the product serves as the next chapter in the brand's mission to engineer hair solutions rather than simply masking issues. Available starting August 14 for $33, the mist is designed to function across all hair colors, including dark shades, without the chalky finish that has long plagued the dry shampoo market.
